Blue water Travnik

The water of the Big Blue River spring emerges from among the mountain rocks in the Travnik forests of stunning natural beauty in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The blue waters of the source of “Plava Voda” permeate the riverbed to the east of Travnik Castle, where a series of wooden bridges over the water intersect with a group of restaurants and cafes located on the water’s edge, making this place a quiet spot for photographs and enjoying a delicious meal or sipping a hot drink while listening to the sound of trickling water. It has been a distinctive destination for a large number of tourists since the visit of the Austrian Prince Rudolf Habsburg (Rudolf Habsburgovac). Plava Voda (Blue Water) is a large spring that creates an approximately 350-meter-long eponymous river in Travnik. It rises under Vlašić mountain, just below Travnik Castle, in the center of the Old Town of Travnik.

Old Town Travnik and Stari Grad Castle

Travnik is one of the places that clings to the memory of tourists and makes you feel as if you have been transported to an old movie in Istanbul.

The Ottomans rebuilt this village around the fifteenth century, and it contains a castle on top of a high hill and a tower reaching about 16 meters high, surrounded by a square with terraces for storing heavy weapons in the past, in addition to the Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror Mosque, which is close to the western wall of the castle. You can find restaurants and cafes in areas near the castle. It is worth noting that this village has not lost its old luster since it was established until now.
